Blue Exorcist

Blue Exorcist in its first episode is all about the potential here because it's doing the setup phase of things. A-1 Pictures presents it in a really striking way with their style of animation, one of my favorites when it comes to character designs and sets, and they work things so that Rin is pretty likable here from the start. Spending the time to just introduce him as a normal guy for most of it is kind of dicey, since you can lose some viewers quickly, but the payoff is definitely there at the end. What we get in those last few minutes speaks to what the series will be about in a larger sense, but it has so little time here that it doesn't get to really differentiate itself from other shows of a similar nature. That said, there's certainly more than enough here to entice someone back for me and this is easily a great show to check out every week as at the least it's very well animated and executed.
This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible. However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there's one thing that he doesn't have and that's a container in the human world that is powerful enough to hold him!! For that purpose, he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans, or will he become something else...? An exorcist?
I can't say I watched it, or even read it. But I keep hearing super great things about it

The anime is new, so there is only 8 episodes out. The manga on the other hand... There is 25 chapters and counting!
   Hmmm I really have nothing to say because I haven't watched or read it ^^;

Starry Sky Episode 1-26

Remember my older post about this? No, well it's cool.

The heroine, Tsukiko, enrolled to a school that was recently changed from all-boys school to co-ed. Since the area where the school is conveniently rural and the rather exclusive curriculums the school has, up until now the heroine is the only one female who enrolled to the school.
The Starry Sky anime was a HUGE hit! It rocked the profits of the game it self and made it more well known.

The anime fallows the game some what. But it lets you in on the other guys more than Tsukiko’s. In only 2 episodes there was such a character development for Tsubasa and other characters. Along with the rest of the cast of characters; Kazuki , Hayato and Azusa and lots of screen time. While I believe Tsukiko (main character) had about the least amount of it. I beleive they wanted to give you a chance to get to know the other characters while the game mainly only focuses on Tsukiki.

The anime it self is not the best, nor all that epic to watch. It is amusing to see. Each guy gets 22 minutes each and it starts with Yoh and end with Shiki (not Azusa for what ever reason)

Each episode is 12 minutes while there are 26 episodes in total.

Check it out, all episodes can be found here

Japan’s Kyoto Seika University said Tuesday it will launch the country’s first doctoral program in manga studies next year.
The private university in western Japan is well known for its manga and anime programs and established a master’s degree course in manga last year.[...]
The university says it has received overseas requests for an advanced center for manga research, and that the industry is in transition amid globalization and the growth of digital media.

Kyoto Seika University announced on Tuesday that it will offer Japan's first doctorate program in manga studies to new students, beginning in April of next year. The university in Kyoto has a 40-year history of academic study in manga and animation. The university was first to install a specialized area of manga studies in 2000, and it then crated a Faculty of Manga in 2006. It was also the 1st to establish a master's degree program in manga last year, when it accepted 20 students. The university notes that the creation of the doctorate program is a response to internationalization of manga culture, increased public support, and developments in digital media and global contents culture. The faculty's teaching staff includes To Terra creator Keiko Temiya and manga translator and cultural anthropologist Matt Thorn.
Candidates in the doctoral program will study manga theories for at least 3 years to receive this Doctorate of Arts degree. After completing coursework, the Kyoto Seika University expects graduates to become researchers, professors, and manga artists. The teaching staff includes internationally known manga researchers and active authors and editors. With this staff, students will get a close view of authors' perspectives on manga research and develop professional knowledge about production.
Kyoto Seika University will accept applications next January, hold admission tests in February, and accept 4 to 12 students into the program in April 2012.
More information about the program is available in Japanese on the university's website.

This is really recent too, this was posted Monday of this year!
